What a whirlwind summer I’ve had! August flew by before I even got a chance to feel that Texas heat in my bones. It’s been almost 3 weeks since my trip to Joshua Tree and I’m just now getting a chance to post about it. I’d never been to California before, but I will definitely be going back because the little snippet I got to see was not enough! The mountains we flew into in Palm Springs were beautiful and so different from my home town’s Appalachians. My travel buddy and fellow photographer Jordan and I kept joking that we were on Mars! No grass, and so many weird little trees 🙂
We spent the week in the Joshua Tree Retreat Center, attending Heck Yeah Photo Camp – a camp of about 150 photographers. During the day we had classes inside to escape that DRY desert heat. No joke, I gulped down at least a million water bottle refills. But in the mornings and evenings, we got some opportunities to go into the park and shoot, the photos of which I’d love to share with you here.
